LSSSC Meetings LSSSC Meetings are normally held during the first week of every month. The day on which meetings are held is not fixed. This is to allow for greater flexibility in arranging events. We aim to meet at different venues across Lincolnshire, in attempt to balance out the distances members have to travel. You can read about past meetings by CLICKING HERE , future meetings currently arranged are as follows:
JULY
The day will include a Pottery
Demonstration, and a tour of their holding which includes Jacob sheep,
geese, hens, bees, vegetables, fruit bushes and an orchard.
More details of Finola’s Pottery, and directions to their holding, can be found at www.finspottery.co.uk
AUGUST This is a social event, but the
beekeepers will bring along some spare suits, so that people can see
what the inside of a hive looks like (assuming that I’ve still got
some bees left). Like us, the beekeepers bring food along, so it
should be a good buffet!
Another social day, with a chance
to eat some really good food. What is it about Smallholders and
Food? OCTOBER Ray Wisby, owner of Wisby Butchers,
will give a demonstration of pork butchery, including an explanation
of the different cuts that you can make. Ray will also show us how to
make ham (which he does in his Wragby shop). He has also suggested
that he barbecues some of the cuts, and has offered to bring along
some of his own sausages. We are still looking for somebody to host
this event. Ivan and Sam Evans were very quick to offer a pig for the
demonstration, but it might be possible for Ray to do
two. NOVEMBER
