This “ hands on” one day course aims to provide you with the knowledge you require to enable you to start keeping chickens or take your hobby one step further.

· What is a chicken, what is the chicken for, garden, eggs or meat · The joy and benefits of keeping chickens.· What breed to choose (time to meet our girls and boys)· Type of chickens, large fowl, bantam.· The chickens basic needs· Housing, run and fencing Keeping the chickens in and the fox out· Bedding and night time routine· Food and feeding routine Hygiene and cleaning routine.· Handling chickens (hands on time) Bathtime (dustbath’s that is)· Eggs and Incubation Aliments and remedies· Wing clipping, broody hen, moulting.
The one day course will be fun and interesting. The day ends with a quiz for a poultry related prize for the winner.

If anyone wants rotovating doing either regular or one off I can help with either compact tractor rotovator (will cope with up to an acre) or pedestrian suitable for gardens etc. I would come and do the job at good rates/ 'what have you?' or barter.
I also have a 'rotorake' for lawn/seedbed prep, it levels and removes stones.

· Eggs (egg production, selling and the law)
· Incubation and the broody hen Aliments and remedies
· Wing clipping, broody hen, moulting. (hands on experience)
The two day course will be fun and interesting. There will be plenty of time for meeting our chickens and other animals, asking questions and chatting with other keen poultry fanciers. The weekend ends with a quiz to test what you have learnt over the two days. A poultry related prize for the winner.
Our bed and breakfast accommodation is also available. En-suite bedrooms, flat Screen TV, tea making facilities
