The purpose of Lincolnshire Smallholding & Self-Sufficiency Club is to bring together likeminded people, within Lincolnshire, who are interested or involved in any aspect of smallholding or self-sufficiency.

LSSSC came about after two friends, Naomi Lever and Debbie Hargreaves thought it would be a good idea!! At the time Naomi and Debbie hadn't even met, in fact they lived over 200 miles from each other. They had 'met' however thanks to the ACountryLife.Com forum.

Naomi had lived in Lincolnshire for 5 years, Debbie was about to move there. Both were keen to meet other like minded people in Lincolnshire, interested in any apsect of smallholding or self-sufficiency. So, in April 2005, after agreeing that a club would be a good idea, Naomi and Debbie went about setting one up!

It didn't take them long to get the first meeting arranged for 2nd June 2005, and, as they say, the rest is now history!

Who are we?

This is Patrick - our Chairman (Patrick is on the right left).

He says: "Drawn to Lincolnshire by a desire to grow and produce our own food in our beautiful countryside, we found Kingthorpe Manor Farm. A 2.5 acre DEFRA registered holding. We had spent 16 years running a busy restaurant in London, and longed for a quieter life where we were in control of how our food was grown and raised. We now have a variety of poultry, goats and pigs, and grow the majority of our fruit and vegetables using organic methods. The LSSSC has introduced us to lots of like minded people, who have become friends, willing to share knowledge and information, as well as enjoy good food and company at our regularly monthly meetings"

This is Debra (and Dean), our secretary.  She lives over the border, in Leicestershire, but we don't hold that against her!
